Call for Entries: 'Art of Illusion' Juried Exhibition
The Monmouth Museum is offering artists aged 18 and older a chance to enter their artwork into their juried exhibition, "Art of Illusion."
Deadline for submission is Feb. 15. The exhibit will run from Mar. 4 through Apr. 29.
"Art of Illusion" will feature artwork that presents a link between perception, appearance and reality. Works can explore ideas of expectation and illusion while displaying a visual image that is not quite as it first appears.
Illusionist art is represented in a variety of styles including, but not limited to, trompe l'oeil, photorealism, surrealism, 3D, hidden elements and optical illusion.
All artwork entered must be the artist's original creations completed within the last five years, and must not have been exhibited in past Monmouth Museum exhibitions.
Artwork will be considered in all media except film/video. Artists are requested to submit digital images in JPEG format on a CD. Submissions are limited to a maximum of two pieces.
Submission fees are $20 per piece for non-members of the museum. The fee is waived for Monmouth Museum members.
