Baby Bit In Face By Family Husky in North Middletown

The girl was taken to the hospital with puncture wounds to the face.

A 12-month old girl was bitten in the face by a family dog at home on Lorraine Place, in North Middletown, around 7 p.m. Friday night. 

The baby had several puncture wounds, but the injuries were not considered life-threatening, said Middletown EMS spokesman Bob Pfleger. 

The dog bite is the second one in two days that drew EMS and Police response. On Thursday, a Port Monmouth woman was bitten by her son's pit bull in their shared home.

Middletown First Aid Squad transported the baby to Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank. The dog was at kept at home. 

Middletown Animal Control was notified of the incident, said Sgt. Paul Bailey.
