Belford Independent's Ladies Auxiliary Shows Caring For Community
The group mustered dozens of volunteers to help the firemen and the people of Union Beach and Keansburg.
The Ladies Auxiliary of the Belford Independent Firehouse distributed two huge truckloads of donations on Sunday.
It is just the latest in their weeklong effort by as many as 50 volunteers who worked together to give away generously donated food, clothes and essentials.
When they weren't sorting and repackaging, the volunteers were at the firehouse making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and brewing coffee and then delivering it to people in Keansburg and Union Beach who were cleaning out flood-ravaged houses. The effort was organized by Auxiliary President Jill Topolewski.
