Car Flipped on Hood in Route 35 and New Monmouth Road Crash
Three patients transported to hospital in accident involving at least two vehicles, which led to significant traffic delays on Route 35 South Friday evening.
An accident that resulted in an overturned minivan at the intersection of New Monmouth Road and Route 35 South backed up traffic to Kings Highway Friday evening.
Middletown police, fire and emergency service personnel were on scene of the accident, which involved two vehicles.
A minivan had flipped fully onto its hood on the grass in front of the Bank of America building.
The driver in the overturned minivan was conscious and alert when extricated by emergency workers, said Middletown First Aid spokesperson Beth Edwards.
Fairview transported two people from the flipped mini-van to Riverview Hospital, and MONOC transported the driver of the second car to the hospital, said Middletown EMS spokesman Bob Pfleger. No information on patients or their conditions was immediately available.
While the Middletown Fire Police tried to move traffic past the accident scene, two vehicles in the northbound lane became involved in a fender bender, Edwards said.
Responding to the accident were squads from Fairview First Aid, Fairview Rescue, Leonardo Rescue, Station 11 Fire Company, Middletown Fire Police and numerous Middletown Township Police officers.
