Carl J. Anselmi, Former Middletown Elks Leader, Dies at 71
Anselmi worked at Fort Monmouth and was active in the Elks club.
Carl J. Anselmi, 71, of Toms River, NJ, died on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at The Arbors Care Center in Toms River. He was born in New York City, NY and lived in Middletown from 1977 to 2006 prior to moving to Toms River.
Carl worked as a Systems Programmer for NJ Transit, Newark for 15 years before his retirement. Prior to that he worked for the FBI at Ft. Monmouth until 1990.
Carl was a member, and Past Exalted Ruler of the Middletown Elks, Post 2179. He was also Chairman of the Special Children's Committee at the Middletown Elks for many years.
Surviving are his wife, Ann (nee Payne) Anselmi; his 2 daughters, Sandy and her husband John Faccas of Aberdeen, and Lorraine and her husband Jeff Brown of Middletown; his grandchildren, Alli, John, and Teresa Faccas, and Derek, and Ryan Brown; his sisters, Terry and Priscilla; his sisters-in-law, Fran and Teresa; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Elda Anselmi.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 4, 2012 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Road, Middletown. Funeral services are scheduled for 8:45 am Friday, October 5, 2012 at the funeral home. A Funeral Liturgy will be offered on Friday at 10 am at St. Catherine's Church, 110 Bray Ave., North Middletown. In respect of Carl's wishes he will be privately cremated.
