Curfew Continues in 18 Coastal Monmouth Towns

But suspended in 9 other coastal communities

Monmouth County's coastal curfew remains in effect for 19 municipalities while being suspended in eight others.

Only essential personnel may be outside and on the roads from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. in the following municipalities: Allenhurst, Avon-By-The-Sea, Belmar, Deal, Interlaken, Hazlet, Highlands, Keansburg, Keyport, Lake Como, Loch Arbour, Manasquan, Monmouth Beach, Neptune Township, Ocean Grove, Sea Bright, Sea Girt and Union Beach.

The curfew has been lifted in: Aberdeen, Asbury Park, Atlantic Highlands, Bradley Beach, Brielle, Long Branch, Matawan, Middletown and Spring Lake.

“The curfew continues for select coastal communities to assist our law enforcement operations, ensure the safety of our residents and also help meet the needs of our communities,” Sheriff Shaun Golden said.

Here is what "won" on Tuesday:
reliance on the state vs. self-reliance
collectivism vs. individualism
large government vs. small government
dependent citizens vs. powerful citizenry
entitlements vs. independence
weakness vs. strength... of character
and I should add... four more years of divisiveness, sanctimonious speeches, wasteful spending, and bad policy.

Why are we talking about politics in an article about curfew? What does the president have to do w curfews in monmouth county? Don't use this forum to complain about the election. Go on a page that wants to talk politics, you doing that just goes to show your way of thinking is wrong for this country. That is the same selfishness that is wrong for the world. Now what do you think about the curfew?

You guys are a peice of work. you are so bent out of shape that you turn an article that has NOTHING TO DO with politics into another chance to bash and insult half of the country who did not vote for "your side'. You treat politics like a football game, and it is pathetic. Until you open you eyes and realize that it is the over the top anger and venom that you are displaying and that has and still is being displayed many who support the republican agenda that sent me and many others who may have otherwise been conviced to stay, fleeing to the other side. Even after losing the anger and venom is at an all time high and the insults at those who voted for the president just underscore how out of touch many in the opposition are with what could have been a strong base for them. It is sad, and if you and "your team" keep this rhetoric up, you will lose again in 4 years. Wake up - because hate, anger, fear induced rants only served to do you in in the end, when you could have easily won this race. Shaking my head at the blinders that many of you refuse to take off.

Count me in too! Nothing but a bunch of morons who bring politics into a discussion of a local curfew!

Sorry, but Cliffwood Beach has been without police protection since the hurricane. Dark nights with only starlight and few if any cruiser patrols. I saw one police car in a week and a half. We put out our own cones to keep traffic away from a downed power line. Taking off the curfew seems a moot point.

Michelle, Well Said!!!
The Republican party has been hijacked. As an Independent was really hoping for a candidate that would not bend over to the right wing. Romney capitulated and look what happened.
