I know it's probably taboo today, but I miss the Taco Pie.....and the Pizza Hogie.

Jar..I was partial to pizza day and taco day myself!!! YUM!! And when I was in school,no one had any allergies like these kids do now..Everyone ate their peanut butter and drank their milk with no problem!!

I don't remember Pizza or Taco day. But I agree; I don't think I knew what an allergy was until I was in my 20's. haha

Well, taco and pizza day was actually in High School but I do remember the pizza hogie from Junior High! And as for Suzy,if your child has milk allergies maybe you should pack some extra juice boxes for them..I'm sure the scholl will have allternitives to milk regardless.

If I told you what I hate for lunch in HS, you'd probably puke.

What's with all this milk? What alternative do you have if the kids have a 'dairy allergy'? and don't tell me 'water' - and I'm not talking about soda either. In my day - at they had juice....it was small but at least it was available.

So,pack your kids' lunch.A homemade luch is probably healthier and more tasty anyhow. You will also be assured that the lunches won't contain anything they are allergic to or just plain don't like. When I was in school during the Dark Ages,we had a choice of white or chocolate milk,or orangeaide, aka orange colored sugar water. No juice.

The food choices are gross and disgusting by the time it gets to the elementary schools! "Hot lunch" should be hot when it arrives, not wet & cold! They definitely need to get more creative than pancakes or french toast sticks! How is that nutritous!???

Yet again people need to stop complaining and pointing the finger at others and expecting them to fix things and make it all better for them. They also expect the schools to do the parenting for them!!! Stop you whining about allergies and milk choices and start being a PARENT!! This is what you signed up for so stop shrugging your responsibilities stop pointing the finger and blaming others and take control yourself. Pack a Lu ch for your kids that you feel is appropriate. Sorry if that cuts into your gym or face booking time!! I could never have kids and wish the hell I could. I see parents bitching and complaining these days and I just shake my head in dismay!!!

Ok - Maybe I shouldn't have said ANYTHING - (I don't have kids, either Michael C. - and not having them wasn't MY idea - I wish I could of, too.) I'm not pointing fingers and I'm not shrugging responsibility onto others - I'm just making an observation.....I just find it odd that all that's available is milk - especially since it seems like kids these days all seem to have some sort of 'allergy". So calm down!

I agree with MaryLou...If the menu is not to your liking OR your kid has some sort of allergy, pack a lunch! Why take a chance that your kid may be near a wayward peanut, pack a lunch with extra water or juice boxes..And Kim,I think Blueberry Eggos are pretty creative and pretty damn good considering what we had for breakfast at school! I'm guessing that is why they release a menu so if parents don't like it they can pack their kids lunch themselves.
