Four Easy Ways to Be Heard on Middletown-NJ Patch
Bookmark this page when you're wondering how to post an event, announcement or blog to Middletown-NJ Patch
Would you like to know how to post events, announcements and even your column to Middletown-NJ Patch? Keep this article handy each time there is something you'd like to share with our community.
To post events to the site for free: navigate to the Events page and click “Add an Event” on the right side of the page. Tell us all the details about your upcoming event, then click “post my event” at the bottom of the page.
That puts the event directly on our calendar. The end result is the same as if a Patch staffer had posted it for you.
The only difference is, when you post it, it goes up right away. If you send it to us, you might have to wait until we're done reporting on the school board meeting, photographing an event, meeting with community members, or something else that we Patchers are always doing. Calendar listings appear in the newsletter.
To post announcements to the site for free: simply look under the NEWS tab and look for the Announcements option. On the right side of the screen you’ll see the button “Add an Announcement.” This will you take you to Patch’s new announcement form. Once there, tell us your news. When you’re ready, click “publish my announcement” and it will go live to the site immediately.
With just a few clicks, you can tell the town about your company's effort to help Hurricane Sandy victims, announce the new pastor of your church, or tell everyone about the your organizations's award.
You can also write a public thank-you, provide details about your group's upcoming event, or ask for volunteers. (We have a whole bunch of categories you can choose for your announcement; you'll see for yourself when you submit one.)
For extra visibility, add a photo. If you email the link to the editor (email@example.com), we can help give you even more exposure by putting it on the front page.
Start your own Local Voices column: Simply click the "Want to Blog on Patch?" button on our homepage, click "post on Patch," and fill out the required fields. When done, hit "save and preview" and then submit it to us. Don't forget to post your own photo. To do that, click on your name when signed into Patch and navigate to Profile Photos. Without a profile photo we can't publish it on the front page. (Though it can still be found on the site.) What can you blog about? We're interested in everything that has to do with life in Middletown and the Bayshore.
