Why you should go: Learn how easy orchids can be! Guest lecturers from Deep Cut Orchid Society will give an introduction to enjoying and growing orchids, discussing basic care, water and light requirements, repotting, and growing an orchid collection.

The "Grape to be Back" Blues Show
When and where: Friday, Feb. 3 at The Wine Loft in Long Branch
Why you should go: Instead of sitting at home crying the blues, enjoy the hot blues sounds of Rb3. Two new artists will joining the group, with Melissa Murray on vocals, and John Macdonald on bass.

Fitness in the Park
When and where: Saturday, Feb. 4 at 9 a.m. at Fair Haven Fields, Ridge Rd & Gentry Dr in Fair Haven
Why you should go: a Fun total body workout outdoors which can be modified for any fitness level. Group meets by the flagpole at the concession building.

Chili Dinner - Chili for a Chili Night!
When and where: Saturday, Feb. 4 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Knights of Columbus, Red Bank Council #3187 in Fair Haven
Why you should go: The Fair Haven 8th grade Graduation Dance Committee is inviting everyone to come enjoy homemade chili. Take-out quarts will also be available, perfect for the super bowl the next day. All proceeds go toward creating a memorable dance for the 8th grade graduates.
What does it cost: $10 adults, $5 children, purchase at the door
Beat the Winter Blues -- Meet, Mingle & Music
When and where: Saturday, Feb. 4 at 7 p.m. at Brookdale Community College in Lincroft
Why you should go: The Brookdale Alumni Association and radio station 90.5 FM The Night present a social networking event for alumni, friends and station members. The live concert features music by Laura Crisci along with her "band of merry men." Pre-show reception starting at 7 p.m. to feature complimentary light fare, with wine and beer cash bar. Concert begins at 8 p.m.
What does it cost: $20 advance for the general public, $16 for members of the Brookdale Community College Alumni Association, and $12 for students with a valid ID.
