NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams indulged in a little puppy love in his Friday night broadcast.
The broadcaster, a Mater Dei grad who grew up in Middletown and was a member of Old Village Fire Company and Fairview First Aid, usually introduces segments by other reporters, but in a little surprise he narrated and appeared in one himself about Animal Planet's 9th annual "Puppy Bowl," a fun competition that is pitted against the NFLs' Superbowl coverage on Sunday as alternate TV fare for people who just don't care as much about football as they do about cute rescue dogs.
His enthusiasm for puppies was nearly as at the level he usually reserves for Nascar.
"You are ridiculously cute," he gushed at little Pearl, who will be competing Sunday. Viewers were left wondering if he'd take her home to the Williams family. Watch to find out.
