Middletown Orders Mandatory Evacuation of Flood Prone Areas Ahead of Nor'easter
Officials urge residents to leave by Wednesday at 3 p.m., "at the latest."
The following announcement from Middletown Township Office of Emergency Management was released around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The National Weather Service reports that a Nor’easter is expected to impact our area on Wednesday, November 7th.
Due to compromised flood control features such as dunes, Middletown Township has issued a mandatory evacuation order from Keansburg to Atlantic Highlands from Route 36 to the bay.
We urge that you leave by 3:00 pm on Wednesday at the latest.
High winds will likely cause a problem with flying debris and downed wires; as a result power loss could occur again township wide.

No way am I leaving again. This storm is way way smaller then Sandy, with only a 3 foot tidal surge. With the looters out there, I am not budging.

it may be important to heed the warnings. i understand your pain and i sympathize, but please don't jeopardize your life. there is a rainbow after the storm, even though you may not be able to comprehend it right now. do it for the kids. they need to be safe. minimize their fear and confusion, please.

Debbie I understand what you are saying. But for thoese of us who have lived on the wet side for many years know the differance between a nor easter and a supersormtThis storm that is hitting us now is only a 3 foot tidal surge and no full moon,in fact high tide has passed already this morning. So the bay hitting my house is not goin to happen. Plus where are we goin, to go?? the town really let us down in explaining . The only way I found out about the evacuation was ONLINE!! So if you do not have power.. how are you going to find out? When we had to be out for Sandy, the Fire dept came door to door. Now I have been home for 2 days, no one has come here! I just got my power back, so I did find out, but many people out there have no way of hearing things. I for one and my husband and my 15 yr old sin are staying...... they can pull me out my my hair .. that is the only way I will leave

People who respond with ridiculous replies are just the people who wouldn't help anyway.
