Men Indicted For Allegedly Dealing Pot, Committing Burglary, in Middletown

A grand jury in Freehold handed up indictment in two 2012 cases Wednesday.

A Monmouth County grand jury indicted a Red Bank man and three Millstone men in connection to crimes allegedly committed in Middletown this year.

  • Jason B. Randell, 25, of Patterson Lane in the Fairview section of Middletown was formally charged with possession of more than 5 lbs of marijuana with intent to distribute within 500 feet of Bodman Park on March 15, 2012. (Read the Patch report of his arrest here.)
  • Three Millstone men were indicted for burglary allegedly committed in Middletown on June 12, 2012.

Michael Comar, age 26; Allen J. Richards, age 35, and Lewis M. Smith, age 28 -- all from the same Disbrow Hill Rd. address in Millstone -- are accused of breaking into a residence and stealing a firearm, swords, computer and speakers, laptop, VHS player and camera, the total value of which was more than $500.

They also face charges related to the unlawful possession of the firearm, because they are not registered to have possession of it.

The Grand Jury's vote to indict is not a conviction. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
