Most Monmouth County Offices Closed on Monday

Hurricane Sandy forces closures

Most Monmouth County offices will be closed on Monday as Hurricane Sandy arrives in the area.

The county website said on Sunday night that elections and "other essential offices," will be open but residents are encouraged to call first to find out their respective office hours.

Election office workers will be processing vote by mail requests for county residents. Those requests are due by Tuesday Oct. 30.

The county announced on its Facebook page that the county parks and golf courses will all be closed on Monday. There was no word on their status for Tuesday.

All branches of the Monmouth County Library system will also be closed on Monday.

Your best bet is to call the offices individually for schedule questions.
