Three Middletown juveniles now face burglary and other related charges after a witness reported seeing them trying to break into a house last week.

On Sept. 29 at 10:25 a.m., Patrolman Jason Caruso and Cpl. Gerald Weimer responded to the area of Church Street in reference to a report of a burglary in progress. The police desk had received a call from a witness who reported seeing three juveniles attempting to gain entry into a residence.

The witness provided the dispatcher with descriptions of all three subjects, which was then broadcasted to the responding officers.

Upon arrival in the area the officers observed three subjects fitting the description run into a field near the residence. Cpl. Weimer and Patrolman Caruso were able to apprehend all three subjects.

The officers conducted an investigation that resulted in a 15-year-old male juvenile from the Belford section of Middletown being charged with burglary, criminal trespass and conspiracy. Two other 15-year-old male juveniles from Middletown were charged with burglary, criminal trespass, conspiracy and resisting arrest.

All three suspects were transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released to their parents pending a court date. The officers were assisted with the investigation by Detective Kimberly Best.
