Need Water? Go To Middletown HS North
Motorists can drive up to tent and an NJ American Water employee will put a case in the car.
Update: The boil water advisory was lifted Monday night for the towns still affected. Water will not be distributed after July 2. -- Patch
A steady stream of people living under an inconvenient "boil water" advisory in Middletown, Holmdel, Aberdeen and Highlands came to collect drinking water at Middletown High School North parking lot on Tindall Road Monday.
There was plenty of water to go around, said Middletown Office of Emergency Management Coordinator Charles W. Rogers III. Four tractor trailers filled with pallets of water purchased by New Jersey American Water were on site, with more coming in.
"Everything is flowing rather smoothly, everyone is cooperating," said Rogers. An early morning motor vehicle accident involving a police vehicle happened before the water distribution service started this morning, he said and was not related to the operation.
The high school is the sole water distribution point today, and will be open between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. Drivers do not need to get out of cars, as the NJAW employees will even put the case of 24 bottles in car trunks. Water tanks are available for those who wish to fill their own containers.
The high school is located at 63 Tindall Rd. Travel directions can be found on the high school's website.
On Saturday and Sunday water was given out at Middletown High School South and Wolf Hill Recreation Center in Oceanport, but officials said Sunday night that they will not be offering water at those locations any longer because there are now only four towns under the "boil water" advisory: Middletown, Holmdel, Aberdeen and Highlands.

Surely they jest. Aberdeen residents should make a 1 hour round trip visit to Middletown for 1 case of water. Where's the logic in that ! They should deduct the purchase of water off of our bill....water or tax bill. The idea that I am going to travel this distance in this heat for a case of water is absurd. Thanks for nothing !

Aberdeen isn't a 1/2 an hour ride from MTHS unless you go by way of Red Bank or something. They also are not charging for the water, it's FREE. If you have to buy it in the store if AVAILABLE it will cost$3 and up. If you want to purchase water, good luck, a lot of stores are running out of it. NJAMW is doing the best they can to get your water back to normal. Get a Life!!!

Edward Dooley, from the Strathmore section yesterday I came close to 30 minutes one way. I hit every light along the way, and I was doing 50 or better on 35. There are even further parts of Aberdeen, I can see it hitting 30.

Actually, in this day and age, I wouldn't be surprised at all if it took someone 30 minutes to get from Aberdeen to MTHS North. It takes me 15 minutes to get to the Middletown parkway entrance, and I live in Middletown.

NJAW doesn't really care about you They can deduct the cost of basic supply charge per day from your bill ,BUT THEY won't!! Class action needed. If you pay ??$xxx of dollars for 3 months. They can and won't subtract X number of days you had this inconvience.

wow you must be the same people who complain during the snow storms how no one is doing enough to clear the roads. i would hate to see you people in a catastrophic disaster, im sure all you people drive nice cars live in nice homes and can afford to go to the store and buy a few cases of water. i was in shop rite last night around 7 and they were stocked with water. stop your complaining and get over it,it wil be fixed soon.

debra, you do realize that you and others are COMPLAINING about others complaining, right?
People want to vent their frustrations at the inconvenience. If you don't like it, ignore them. At least they're not cursing and degrading to insults like comments on other articles.
Speaking of, I was impressed when I went to pick up my case Sunday at the civility of both the distributors and the people picking up their stuff, considering the heat, the line, etc. Even if people are complaining they do certainly know how to act.

Drive 20 minutes north, buy 10 cases and quit crying. I spent half the weekend helping out at middletown north and instead of crying maybe ya'll should have done the same. Really, they are doing the best they can.

I have an idea, why not address the TWO folks who complained and quit being so simple minded and lazy by addressing everyone commenting here? You can still get your "holier than thou" point across, no?

wow jarhead maybe you should get your point across better with the correct spelling and use of english lanquage so we can understand what your trying to say.. "I've only seen to comments of complaint".it sounded like you were commenting on people complaining meaning all you read was people complaining. if i knew you were trying to say that only "2"people were complaining i would have understood, and actually its 3 people complaining..
and i am "holier than thou".. have a great day!!!!

I want to thank all the people who are distributing the water for this emergency and the workers who are working as fast as possible to return the system. I went to MTHS for a case and was in and out in no time and the person who put it in my car politely answered a question I asked about what to do when the water is restored to normal.
I think that the people who are looking for a refund of service should not be complaining because if you are conserving and not using water you are not paying for it anyway. You should also be thankful that you are not living in the other parts of are country that are dealing with much bigger problems than we have and that includes South Jersey who will be without power for several days!!!

My water is still disgusting. How long do you have to flush the pipes for? They recommend 5 minutes/faucet, but I've been doing it for two days now and still won't drink/touch it.
