IF pedestrians just stop walking directly out in front of moving vehicles__they would not be struck by moving vehicles. Just as if they stopped walking out in front of moving trains__they would not be struck by trains.

IF drivers yielded to pedestrians who have the light, it would also cut down on the amount of accidents.

My sincerest condolences go out to the family members and friends of the pedestrian hit. Pedestrians and drivers alike need to be more careful. Route 35 seems to be a hot spot for pedestrian injuries, as again, there are no pedestrian routes and/or well designed crossings.
