MAC's 'Miss Sherri' Makes Debut on TV

Monmouth County kiddie music star, Miss Sherri, brings her trademark sound and spirit to TV.

Area performer and instructor Sherri Ehrlich closed the doors of her Honeychild Music school in Red Bank last year; and, now, after downsizing and evolving, a new door has opened for her.

Not long after shuttering her Red Bank headquarters, where she taught area kids for more than a decade, Ehrlich, or "Miss Sherri," as she is known to local children and parents, set up shop at the

There she teaches and performs, continuing the traditions she started at her school. And every Friday afternoon at 4:30 p.m., she produces an hour-long song and dance show at the MAC that emphasizes positive, healthy and happy attitudes and lessons.

The demographic is mainly pre-school aged children, though the music is appealing to kids of all ages, even moms and dads. 

That concert series is now becoming a local TV program. On Jan. 6, the first episode of Honeychild Music TV was shot. Given the proximity to the it was fitting that the concert title and subject was Rockin' Choo Choo, a show dedicated to the music and lure of train travel.

Each episode of Honeychild Music TV will feature songs from new album Send Them Up. Kids are encouraged to join Ehrlich and her band on-stage to literally be a part of the show.

Honeychild Music TV will air on NJ Cable TV, Comcast Channel 20 and Verizon FiOs Chanel 26, airdates and times to be determined. Ehrlich will be producing one new episode a month, but she hopes to expand to two or more a month by spring 2012.
