Patch placed calls to several grocery stores and gas stations in the Middletown Patch directory, and Mike's Dairy, on First Avenue in Atlantic Highlands is open for business, an employee said Thursday afternoon. The convenience store has "almost everything right now" in stock and is running on a generator, an employee told Patch. They plan to be open until 6 p.m.
Calls to ShopRite of Middletown, Welsh Farms Food Stores, Bray Avenue Deli & Grocery and Harmony Natural Foods all went unanswered or resulted in a busy signal.
It was a similar story with gas stations, where phone calls to BP, Exxon and Trivett's Sunoco went unanswered.
