Trick Or Treating Postponement Suggested By Middletown

Dangerous conditions still exist; officials ask its littlest residents to please cosider rescheduling.

With so many dangers present on township roads, Middletown officials are calling for the postponement of the annual Halloween trick or treating tradition.

"At  this time is is highly unlikely that Halloween can be held safely tomorrow," said a statement from the township at 3:30 p.m. Tueday. "Street and sidewalk conditions are not adequate and there will likely not even be any street lighting by tomorrow. We would like to work with the Community to plan a safer more appropriate date later next week."

Middletown public schools remain closed on Wednesday, Oct. 31.

A state of emergency travel ban on non-emergency personnel is still in effect. No word on when that would be lifted.
