This year's Labor Day will be celebrated with two 5K runs in the Long Branch-Eatontown area.

The Pier House 5K and the Eatontown Labor Day 5K Race will both be held this morning

The Pier House 5K is scheduled to start at 8:30 a.m. on the boardwalk in Long Branch. Race day registration and packet pickup will be held at 7 a.m. on the Long Branch Great Lawn, at Madison Ave and the promenade.

Race proceeds will benefit several local charities and the Long Branch Fire Department and Recreation Department. It is also the final race in the Jersey Shore Golden Grand Prix.

The Eatontown 5K Labor Day Race will begin at 9:15 a.m. with race registration beginning at 7 a.m. at the Eatontown Sheraton on the corner of Route 35 and Industrial Way.

There will be pre- and post-race festivities at the hotel and awards for the top finishers.
