Video of the Jan. 16, 2013 Middletown Twp. Library Board Meeting
This was the first meeting of the year and new officers of the Middletown Township Public Library Board were appointed.
A number of members of the public attended to voice thier objections to the Board about the closing of branch offices of the Library.
There was objection among the newly appointed Board members, enough that the Board decided to hold off on the closings until other methods of funding could be sourced.
The Board selected volunteers from each area of town that has a branch to work with the Director and the Finance Committee on alternate funding, in addition to the portion of property taxes already designated for Library funding.

Some notes from the Jan. 16, 2013 Library Board meeting:
The budget vote was put off until the Feb. 20 library board mtg.
The board voted to announce the branch closures would occur on March 1, extending the deadline from Jan. 25.
Three members of the public were selected as liaisons for their respective branches /communities to work with the library's finance committee on solutions or alternative arrangements. The community reps are:
Lincroft - Melanie Elmiger
Bayshore - Bernadette Massey
Navesink - Michael Winchell
New library officers for 2013:
Brock Siebert - president
Larry Nelsen - VP
Vivian Breen - Secretary
David Siwiec - Treasurer
New library committee members for 2013 (the library board president sits on all committees):
Finance Committee - Dave Siwiec, Larry Nelsen, Rob Cordiano
Personnel Committee - Cynthia Wilson, Vivian Breen, Steve Monaghan
Negotiating Committee - Michael Convery, Vivian Breen, Larry Nelsen
