Building a Cathedral

The Pre-Algebra students at Mother Teresa Regional School in Atlantic Highlands created a scale model of a cathedral. The students, under the direction of Mrs. Patricia Hale, made a floor plan of a cathedral building drawn to scale as if viewed from above.

The students then constructed a physical model which sought to maintain the relative proportions (the scale factor) of the physical size of the original object. The cathedrals were built to have a layout in the shape of a cross.

Mother Teresa Regional School offers a challenging curriculum while engaging students in learning. The school serves students in preK3 to 8th grade. For more information about the school and its programs visit mtregional.com.
