Donations of cooked food, rolls and cold cuts are needed at the Hazlet's Cullen Center, next to Hazlet's Municipal Building.
The RAINE organization's distribution center has moved to the Hazlet municipal building because Beers Street School has lost power following the nor'easter.
Volunteers are providing hot meals for emergency workers, and delivering them to victims of the storm by car.
The Cullen Center is located at 1776 Union Avenue, in the same complex as Hazlet Town Hall and Veteran's Park. The entrance is across from the Brookdale facility, near Kohl's.
Thank you!

Since Beers Street has no power, RAINE FOUNDATION has moved to the Cullen Center, Union Ave, Hazlet by Kohls. Please bring all prepared foods to the Cullen Center NOT Beers Street

I showed up there with hot food and they told me that they are in fact NOT accepting it. What a waste of time and money! I even called ahead to make sure this information was correct.

I feel so bad that you were turned away! We are slowly transitioning to the American Red Cross as they have the means to continue long-term provisions. We are, however, providing back up to the families in need. I feel terrible and we can definitely distribute if you want to come back. I don't think I was there when you were turned away - never our intention. We are about including all, and never turning anyone (any age) any time. Please accept my apology - and if you're interested in returning, please come back to the Cullen Center tomorrow.
On behalf of Mike Fabozzi, our President, the entire RAINE Board, and myself - I apologize.

Patti, thank you for your response. I seem to have my father's Irish temper at times. I was upset at the time, but the people there took the food and I'm sure it was distributed to someone. At the time I was convinced that they were not going to do anything with it, but I'm sure I was wrong about that. I should bite my tongue (or tie my fingers up) and cool down before I make comments. I sincerely hope that someone got the trays that I brought over. Thank you again for your response. I'm sorry that I voiced my anger and judgement so quickly. I think we're all under varying degrees of stress lately, although it's no reason to lash out.
