MTRS Learning Academy

Children in the Bayshore have a new opportunity for learning about these exciting topics, and many more, at the new Mother Teresa Regional School Learning Academy.

Julia Nagy, Chair of the Mother Teresa Regional (MTRS) school board, explained that that learning academy is open to all students in the Bayshore area. “This learning academy – now in its second year – is designed to provide enrichment opportunities to all children in the area in a safe and fun environment at the MTRS Campus.” Mother Teresa Regional School is located at 55 South Avenue, Atlantic Highlands.

Michele Leite, Director of MTRSLA, noted that available range from drama courses to photography, and scrapbooking, to one-day cultural enrichment programs. There are also classes open to children and their parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles.

Leite said, “Classes for the Winter 2013 session are available on Monday afternoons, as well as Saturday mornings. We continue our Cultural Series with an Irish Culture and Soda Bread making class,” explained Leite.  Nagy added, “Our cooking class will learn to work with chocolate and make a variety of treats for themselves, friends, and family.”

Mother Teresa Regional School is a preschool through eighth grade Catholic school serving students in the Bayshore. The Learning Academy is a program sponsored by the school open to any student in the Bayshore area and beyond.
