Beginning Monday, January 28, Saint Leo the Great School will celebrate Catholic School Week. It is an annual national event for Catholic Schools. The celebration begins Monday with a Mass officiated by Bishop David M. O’Connell C.M., Bishop of Trenton. A light fare reception will immediately follow Mass. The day ends with an open house for existing Saint Leo’s families to attend.
On Wednesday the celebration continues with Teacher Appreciation Day. The day begins with a “Tiffany style” boxed breakfast hand delivered to each teacher’s classroom. A luncheon along with massages and paraffin treatments are scheduled for the teachers to enjoy at their own leisure.
The week concludes on Friday with Student Appreciation Day. Students will participate in various activities such as relay races and mobile video game theaters. Students will end their day with an ice cream sundae treat.
Catholic School Week gives the school an opportunity to celebrate its beliefs with teachers, students and families. It’s a way to reinforce pride in a Catholic education and to encourage this year’s theme: Catholic Schools Raise the Standards.
