That's funny. To censor is now to be reputable? Not many are pushing for bans here. Once publicRead More awareness is raised, pit bulls will be unwanted and unwelcome by all but the dumbest in society.

@Berkeley. So when they place some recidivist level 3 sex offender next to your apartment and tellRead More you "the boys will be boys" and they are all the same we'll save our empathy for someone else if , God forbid, something should happen.

Am so tired of the 'jumpiness' of the Patch pages. Every time a new item [photo, ad, story] isRead More added the page starts over, goes blank, then pops up again. Time consuming and annoying, to say the least. Please rebuild the pages so they operate smoothly.
NJ has four years of strong pension fund growth.

Hats off to the Federal Reserve and it's counterparts around the world who have collectively printedRead More $29 trillion dollars and artificially driven up every market in the world. The question everyone should ask is, what happens when the printing stops and everyone heads for the exits? It will be like playing musical chairs with ten participants and one chair.

Does the increase include NEW and ADDITIONAL contributions to the fund? That is not clear in theRead More article; if so, then the rise is not 16 %. And, since the Dow is up about 11% for the past 12 months, I'd want to see some serious analysis prior to claiming the fund is doing well. The real test will be when the market takes its first "correction!"

The more people I meet, or the more evil I see people do, I'd say I dont like people so much as aRead More whole, but I love my dog. I wouldn't own a pit just for the homeowners insurance upcharge. I'm not an expert so I don't know enough to make a definitive factual statement. I am however, an objective observer and troubleshooter as my god given talent and success in my job. Lots of us see these horrific stories. The media does focus and sensationalize on a dog bite or attack more if a pit is involved. It is a legitimate question to ask as to whether this breed has impulsive aggressive tendencies as a part of its genetic make up or characteristic behavior, such as beagles have a tendency to bolt and wander if they get out and run free. What actually brings that out seems to be the bone of contention here. The problem with these awesomely powerful dogs is that when they go full throttle, they just do not stop, and the the incredible jaw strength is hard to defend against in a local, neighborly setting. I respect their tenacity, and when they react according to their natural, genetic response when they feel provoked or justified in the well documented dog / family pack mentality to defend that pack or territory, they are doing nothing wrong in the sense of who they are. But when they make a bad decision, really bad things happen. Lowlifes that encourage and train aggressiveness around this trait are despicable. I hate Mike Vick and hope he meets an extremely horrific and long, painful death sooner than later. Good and loving owners cannot make excuses if their wonderful family pet goes apeshit and hurts or kills a perceived threat that was, in fact, not a threat. I know several people who have pits as family dogs and they are just as loyal and loving as any other. I also have neighbors who have been either themselves or their dogs attacked, unprovoked, while just walking their non pit breed on the public streets around the neighborhood.

Parents, go to BOE meetings, keep informed of whats going on in your school district. AskRead More questions. Keep administrators on there toes. If you don't agree with the never-ending testing, let them know. They are your children, speak up.
