Charles Dickens has probably had more influence on the way that we celebrate Christmas today than any single individual in human history except ONE. The Christmas stories of Dickens, particularly his 1843 masterpiece “A Christmas Carol” helped rekindled the joy of Christmas in Britain and America. Today, after more than 160 years, the story continues to be relevant, sending a message that cuts through the materialistic trappings of the season and gets to the heart and soul of the holidays.
Dickens personal reading version of “A Christmas Carol.”
Late in his writing career Dickens began a second career performing public readings of his works to packed houses throughout Britain and America. The most popular of his readings was “A Christmas Carol” for which he wrote a condensed version which we are pleased to perform.
"A Christmas Carol" is the perfect show for the month of December and the Holiday Season. Three skilled professional actors, featuring English actor James Dyne as Scrooge and the Narrator, read Dickens’ own words and perform all the characters in a sparkling one hour reading of this timeless tale of redemption and human kindness.
