More About High Technology High School
Founded in 1991, High Technology High School is a pre-engineering academy founded in conjunction with the Monmouth County Vocational School District and Brookdale Community College. It is a member of the National Consortium for Specialized Secondary Schools of Mathematics, Science and Technology. Approximately 275 students are enrolled annually at the school. About 75 students are selected annually among a pool of about 300 applicants.
The school provides a full high school curriculum, with emphasis on math, science and technology. All classes are 69 minutes long, with five class periods held each day. Extracurricular classes include chess club, math league, the school newspaper, National Honors Society, the performing arts club, robotics club and yearbook committee. The school colors are maroon and gray.
High Technology High School is located on the main campus of Brookdale Community College in the Lincroft section of Middletown Township. All students are required to take Brookdale courses as part of their academic preparation.
