Monmouth County Historian Randall Gabrielan will speak on his new book "Explosion at Morgan" about the forgotten history of a World War 1 munitions disaster in the nearby Morgan section of Sayreville which killed 100 people.
The site, the Gillespe Shell Loading plant, has also disappeared from the landscape.
The book, newly published by The History Press, will be available for purchase and autographing.
The lecture is sponsored by the The Middletown Township Historical Society and will occur during its November meeting at the MacLeod - Rice House, Croydon Hall, 900 Leonardville Road, Leonardo.

More About Middletown Township Senior Center
Located at Croydon Hall, the Middletown Senior Center provides services and hosts a variety of events, trips and activities for the township's seniors. Membership is open to Middletown residents, 60 years of age and older. Transportation is available to members, by reservation.
The Senior Center hosts free weekly classes and group activities to its members on such topics including (but not limited to) bridge, crafts, computers, dance and fitness.
