What does the live TV filming cost the MAC? Middletown subsidizes the operating costs (heating, cooling and electric) of the MAC each and every year since it has opened, which consumes about $200,000 a year. So, the township committee indirectly supports live TV recording and broadcast at the MAC and won't record and broadcast township committee meetings because it will cost too much. There is a huge values disconnect here.

I repeat the comment that I posted on July 5, 2012. And this time directly ask the MAC Director, Maggie O'Brien, or an surrogate, to respond to the question: "What does it cost the MAC to film Miss Sheri's concerts, and then what does it cost to broadcast these concerts? What is the source of the funding? If the source of the funding isn't the taxpayer dollars collected by the Township Committee, does MAC management think the cost of this production should be taken from the operating budget or from any funds provided by the Township Committee? This is the same committee that refuses to fund and broadcast Township Committee meetings. I'm also suprised that Patch management and reporters haven't followed-up on this issue, which, once again, has to do with how tax dollars are budgeted and spent in Middletown. The concerts could be considered a quality of life matter and the recording and subsequent broadcast of Township Committee meetings could also be considered a quality of life as well as a quality of government communication matter.
