Rolling Thunder Ride For Freedom XVII Sept 15 NJ Traffic Route

Rolling Thunder New Jersey Chapter 2 will ride in honor of American POWs and MIAs of past wars in its “Ride For Freedom XVII.”  

Residents and motorists traveling through Monmouth, Middlesex and Union counties should be advised of the planned route. 

WHEN: Sunday, September 15, 2013
Registration: 8:00 a.m.
Departs Warinanco Park, Roselle, NJ at 11:30 AM
Arrives at New Jersey Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial, Holmdel, NJ at 1:00 p.m.

Residents should be aware of the following motorcycle route:
Cavalcade departs Warinanco Park and will take St. George Ave. (Route 27 South).  The cavalcade will continue on St. George Ave. (becomes Route 35 South) through Woodbridge and Perth Amboy to the Victory Bridge.  Once over the Victory Bridge, the procession will continue on Route 35 South through Sayreville/Old Bridge and turn onto Laurence Parkway.  The procession will then enter the Parkway at entrance 120 (on the left) and will follow the Garden State Parkway heading south in the local lanes to exit 116 (PNC Bank Arts Center and New Jersey Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial).

Rolling Thunder, Inc. is a non-profit, non-political volunteer group dedicated toward a full accounting of POWs and MIAs and to help U.S. Veterans from all wars.

The New Jersey Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial Foundation oversees the operation of the New Jersey Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial and Vietnam Era Museum & Educational Center.  The Memorial is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  The Educational Center is open Tuesday through Saturday, 10 AM – 4 PM.  Both are located at exit 116 off the Garden State Parkway.  For more information about the Memorial or Educational Center, call (732) 335-0033.
