'Arctic Blast' on its Way, Storm Expected Tuesday, Wednesday

The National Weather Service in Mt. Holly has issued a briefing regarding Sunday's Arctic airmass and the continued potential for a Tuesday/Wednesday Nor'easter.' 

According to the NWS, storm is possible beginning late Tuesday, Nov. 26 and through Wednesday, Nov. 27.

Strong northeasterly winds and periods of heavy rain are expected, although the probability of stream and river flooding is low. However there may be flooding on roads

Some snow is possible as is minor coastal flooding. 

For those traveling the Thanksgiving holiday, travel conditions will deteriorate Tuesday night as strong onshore winds and rain move into the region. These conditions will continue in Wednesday, improving Wednesday night. 

Expect an arctic blast this weekend. On Sunday high temperatures only in the mid 20s north and mid 30s south with strong winds in the 25 to 35 mph range. The combination of strong winds and very dry air will elevate the fire weather threat on Sunday.
