Give Me Liberty or Give Me a Honk!

Passersby in Belford's Campbell's Junction got a traffic-halting glimpse of a peculiar sight today.

It's not every day that you see the Statue of Liberty in ... just today.

If you happened to be driving through , you couldn't miss a, well, strange replica of the statue bopping on the median, waving and bearing a sign that said, "Honk if you (heart) Liberty, Liberty Tax."

People honked away as the "statue" waved and egged people on to give a few more beeps for the cause.

But, we seriously suspect that the true message wasn't grasped in the seconds-long drive throughs at the intersection of Leondardville Road and Main Street.

At first glance, you see the words "honk" and "liberty." The patriotic costume lends itself to some sort of rally for the troops or hurrah for what else but, "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness."

Naw. It was actually an advertisement for Liberty Tax, a nearby business, with with additional signs posted directing people there.

Hey, it was a nice day for a fun sighting.

Have you seen this Statue of Liberty lately? Or was it an alternate? Tell us about your experience. Did you honk? What did you think it was?
