Over 10,000 Expected at Middletown Day on Saturday, Sept. 28

New this year is a charity flag football game that pits township government and school officials against players with NFL experience.

The annual Middletown Day festival will take over the Great Lawn of Croydon Hall in Leonardo from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28.

More than 10,000 people are expected. The event will be held rain or shine.

The family-friendly festival honors the community spirit of Middletown. There are demonstrations by first responders. Representatives of cultural groups, schools, neighborhood associations and township government meet the public and offer information.

There will be continuous live entertainment, a car show, crafters, vendors and food sellers.

Children ages 6-15 can participate in laser tag, soccer, football and home run derby contests.

New this year is a charity flag football game. The Township Committee, Board of Education members and township employees will face former and active NFL players. Scheduled to appear are NFL Players Brandon Bing (NY Giants), Tony Logan (NE Patriots), J'Vonne Parker (Denver Broncos), and Michael Campbell (NY Jets). The Middletown Eagles and River Plaza Chargers will also participate. Tickets are $10 for the game or $30 for a VIP admission, which gives the ticket-holder access to a pre-game reception at 6:00pm with the NFL players.
