Get Out: Photography Show, Community Day, History Tour & More
Lots to do this weekend in Monmouth County
When & where: An opening reception will be held Friday, April 29 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Monmouth Museum in Lincroft. The images will be on display at the gallery through Sunday, May 29.
Why you should go: Gary Dates likes to create images that are realistically impossible, but not necessarily surreal or abstract in nature. Although the digital images are composited in Photoshop, much of the artist's work is done in-camera.
What does it cost: Free

When & where: Saturday, April 30 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, May 1 from noon to 5 p.m. at 40 locations throughout Monmouth County
Why you should go: If you’re a history buff or are just curious about various historic sites in Monmouth County you’ve often driven past but never checked out, this tour is for you.

The Monmouth County Historical Commission created a tour booklet with detailed histories of the 40 locations on the tour, contact information for each site, and possible routes organized by location. The commission also designed a two-sided map to help guide travelers.
What does it cost: Free
When & where: Sunday, May 1 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Two River Theater in Red Bank
Why you should go: This production of the internationally touring Broadway show by Beatlemania Stage Show is a fundraiser to benefit the non-profit organization Housing and United Services, Inc. (HUS), which advocates for people who are blind or vision impaired in New Jersey.
Housing and United Services is currently raising funds to build two group homes in Middletown for individuals who are developmentally disabled and may also be blind.
What does it cost: $35 general admission, $40 premium seating
Holmdel Community DayWhen & where: Saturday, April 30 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Cross Farm Park in Holmdel
Why you should go: Holmdel Recreation and HYAA will host Holmdel Community Day and Baseball Bonanza Parade. The parade will begin at 10 a.m. at the Village School and end at Cross Farm Park, where the fair will be held. There will be food, rides, crafts, games, and multiple exhibits and displays, including those from the Police, First Aid and Fire Departments.
The rain date will be May 21. (In the event of rain on April 30, call the Holmdel Department of Parks and Recreation at 732-946-2820 x 1225 after 8 a.m. for cancellation information.)

‘The Heiress’When & where: Opening weekend shows are Friday, April 29 and Saturday, April 30 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, May 1 at 2 p.m. at the Center Playhouse in Freehold.
Why you should go: The Heiress is a Victorian period piece based on the Henry James novel Washington Square. Set in New York City in the parlor of a mansion owned by the wealthy Dr. Austin Sloper in 1850, The Heiress explores the intersections between love, money, and family.
What does it cost: Tickets are $24 for general admission, $22 for seniors or students, and $20 per person for groups
