The Middletown Township Historical Society holds its monthly meeting every third Monday of the month. This month, the meeting will be held at the Seabrook-Wilson House Activity Center at Bayshore Waterfront Park, in the Port Monmouth section of Middletown Township.
Participants will be able to view the new historical exhibition and to review the background of the society with the site, which was originally restored and operated by the society following its opening to the public around 1970.
After the society parted ways with an "iron-fisted curator," the Township of Middletown retained the place until the late 1990s, when it was deeded to the County of Monmouth in a land swap.

The long history of emptying the old museum, preparing the site for restoration, and its reopening as an activity center, will be the focus of the discussion that will accompany the viewing of the new exhibits.
The Middletown Township Historical Society was founded in 1968 to research, collect, preserve, interpret and exhibit manuscripts, artifacts, photographs, art work and publications related to the history of the township of Middletown, the county of Monmouth, the state of New Jersey, selected areas of American history, and the residents who made it all happen.
