Framed: Women Who Can Cook II

Talented ladies turned up the heat at the Middletown Arts Center

To celebrate the launch of their entertainment group, J&L Entertainment, Lou Acevedo and Joan Ferraro produced and presented a night of music of the feminine variety.

But make no mistake, the show wasn't exactly dainty, delicate or demure.  Women Who Can Cook II: In Concert was a muscular, throaty, lusty, spiritual, powerful display of four women who bring the heat when they perform.

Acevedo and Ferraro, put the event and their entertainment group together through the many connections and relationships they have formed with area musicians over the years, particularly through their association with the Jersey Shore Jazz and Blues Foundation, of which they were executive board members.

And while the event was a coming out party of sorts, proceeds from the night and of a raffle, went to the American Heart Association, a cause that is close to the hearts of J&L.  Ferraro survived multiple heart attacks when she was 39.  While the women cooked on stage, Ferraro and Acevedo, proved the heart can heal as they danced in the shadows of the wings.

Performers for the night of hot music included, Gina Fox (Montclair), Jennifer Jordan (Red Bank), The Deanna Bogart Band (Maryland) and The Alexis P. Sutter Band (Burlington).
