The Evening Middletown's Billy Van Zandt Came Home and Told All

Bi-coastal actor/writer/producer opened up about his life, career; friends weighed in

Actor, writer, producer Billy Van Zandt came home to Middletown on April 30 to spend the night entertaining friends and fans with stories gleaned from his life and career in show business.

An Evening with Billy Van Zandt was hosted by the Middletown Arts Center (MAC).  The event included an inside look into the life and career of this locally-bred celebrity. All the proceeds from the benefit went towards furthering arts initiatives in the community in which Van Zandt was raised and still is proud to call home.

"The reason I come back and do these things," Van Zandt said, "is because when I was growing up here I always had questions I wanted answered about working in show business and I just didn't have anyone to ask.  I like being able to come back and play that role."

Patch reporter Steve Rogers was on hand at the event to video portions of the show, as well as memories of Van Zandt from friends, family and local fans of his work and life, including a chat with Billy's wife, actress Adrienne Barbeau on their courtship.
