Monday

The Artist Film Showing

The Middletown Public Library will have two showings at 2:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. of the film The Artist. Reservations are not required. Film screenings are free. For more information visit mtpl.org.

Tuesday

Smart Strategies for Home Ownership Seminar

Find out what's happening in Middletownwith free, real-time updates from Patch.

Learn about mortgages, foreclosure scams and prevention, making home ownership affordable, reverse mortgages, home equity lines of credit, traditional mortgages and adjustable mortgages in a presentation by the American Education Foundation from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the Middletown Township Public Library. The seminar is free. The American Education Foundation (AMEDF) is a national not-for-profit trust dedicated to community education. AMEDF programs incorporate resources and materials from government agencies, non-profit and other community organizations. AMEDF participates in the National Strategy for Financial Literacy Initiative, a comprehensive effort to promote financial success in the U.S. by the Financial Literacy and Education Commission comprised of 22 federal agencies.

Wednesday

The Middletown Township Planning Board will meet at 6:30 p.m. in the main meeting room of l, 1 Kings Highway. Meetings are open to the public. The agenda has not yet been published. 

Brian Kirk and the Jirks will perform a rock n’ roll routine during the Sandy Hook Foundation’s weekly Wednesday concert series at Area E in . The concert begins at 6 p.m. and admission is free. Beach wheelchairs are also available on a first come first serve basis.  Weather cancellations made at 2 p.m. day of the show. For more information call (732) 291-7733.

 

Thursday

 The Middletown Summer Concert Series: Jennifer Mylod

Artist Jennifer Mylod performs original and contemporary folk music as well as traditional Irish tunes and songs. The Middletown Summer Concert Series is every other Thursday beginning July 12th from 7 to 9 p.m. The concert is free. The Middletown Township Education Association (MTEA) and the Middletown Arts Center sponsor the performances.

 

Special Township Meeting

Town Hall

There will be a Special Meeting of the Township Committee on Thursday July 12, 2012 at 6:30pm in the Main Meeting Room at Town Hall, One Kings Highway. The resolution includes the approval of the 2012 budget.

Friday

Senior Summer Picnic

Middletown seniors can enjoy three hours of DJ, entertainment by Tara Feeley and a $5.00 indoor picnic lunch. Lunch includes 2 hot dogs, baked beans, macaroni salad, soda, and dessert. Door prizes offered. Entertainment sponsored by Investor Savings Bank. Middletown’s Senior Center welcomes residents 60 and older to become members. Special events, trips and weekly activities are offered throughout the year. Transportation is available to registered members by reservation. Events are held in the East Wing unless otherwise noted. Vans Warped Tour

PNC Bank Arts Center

More than 50 bands will take the stage Friday during the Vans Warped Tour. Doors open at 12 p.m.. Tickets cost $46.50. Headliners include Taking Back Sunday, All Time Low and The Used.
