Government Meetings and Greetings

Middletown Mayor Anthony P. Fiore will host Meet the Mayor Monday July 16 at the . Fiore will discuss government related issues with interested residents before the regularly scheduled Township Committee meeting from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Residents can also reach the Mayor by calling his office at 732-615-2024 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The Middletown Township Committee will meet for their regularly scheduled meeting at 8 p.m. Monday, July 16 in the Main Meeting Room of the .  Resolutions of their committee’s agenda include the approval for ten new police vehicles, an appointment to the Middletown Veterans Affairs Committee and a resolution authorizing the settlement between Middletown and Whirl Construction for their work it completed between 2004 and 2011 in various Township parks. Music at the Beach

Folk rock musicians Pat Guadagno & the Candle Brothers will perform Wednesday, July 18 during the Sandy Hook Foundation’s weekly Wednesday concert series at Area E in . The concert begins at 6 p.m. and admission is free. Beach wheelchairs are also available on a first come first serve basis.  Weather cancellations made at 2 p.m. day of the show. For more information call (732) 291-7733.

Health Corner

Parents and coaches of young athletes can learn about the signs and symptoms, proper treatment and rehabilitation guidelines, sideline assessments, preseason baseline testing and more during a free lecture being held at the about Concussions in Youth Sports from 7 to 9 p.m. on July 18. Doctors at the event will discuss the signs and symptoms of a concussion as well as the potentially fatal consequences.
