Jersey Central Power and Light has announced it has completed circuit upgrades that will limit the frequency and duration of power outages.
The circuit upgrades in Middletown, Atlantic Highlands and Highlands included replacing wire, installing additional lightning arrestors, fuses and devices to protect lines from overloading.
“Circuit upgrades are a result of the planning and analysis we do each year,” said JCP&L President Don Lynch in a statement. “The planned projects serve to reinforce the distribution network serving our customers.”
Circuit upgrades were also completed in Colts Neck, Freehold Borough, Freehold Township, and Marlboro Township.
The upgrades are a part of JCP&L’s $200 million capital improvements investment.
