Winter Solstice: Home to a Slow Market

House Hunt helps combat the darkness during the shortest days of the year with these bright Middletown real estate bargains

Hey, home buyers, don’t let the shortest days of the year put you in a dark mood.

Brighten up with real estate bargains that still abound in Middletown. And although there’s only a few shopping days left before Christmas and Hanukkah, the real estate market has plenty of bargains still left over.

The shortest day of the year occurs this week, so House Hunt wants to let the sunshine in, with some real estate holiday miracles before winter really arrives. (Officially, winter is due to push out autumn at 12:30 a.m. ET on Thursday morning, Dec. 22, the day after Hanukkah begins.)

Realtor.com has a plethora of available inventory in our area, and we grabbed a handful to feature in this week’s column. You’ll see the prices, the amenities, and, in the case of two of them, the hours of the open house events this Sunday, Dec. 18.

Yep, bring some gingerbread cookies and head on over to see what’s under their tree as two sellers invite you in for a peek. You may even unwrap a surprise or two.

From New Monmouth to Navesink, the market looks bright. So check out these listings; and, to all, a good (long) night.

And to our Jewish neighbors, mazel tov during the eight-day Festival of Lights!
