Art Studio reopens in new Rumson Location. Open House September 19, 2013 3-8 pm

Are you or your children interested in drawing, painting, sculpture or ceramics? Looking for a way to nurture and express your creative instincts?  Canvas Studio Art, an art studio established by artists for artists, will reopen this month at a new location, 126 East River Road in Rumson. With better lighting, new studio and exhibition space and improved parking, the studio is better than ever. On Thursday, September 19, 2013, Canvas will host an open house from 3-8 pm to allow the public to tour the newly renovated space and to meet the team of professional artists and art educators who teach at Canvas.

Canvas offers classes and workshops throughout the week for kids, teens and adults. “We are so excited for the opening of our new space and our fall line-up,” said one of the founders and local artist Meg Sellig.  “For children age 4 and older, we offer an Art Start class that introduces children to art and is specially designed for small hands and big imaginations. For older students we offer a number of afterschool classes which allow students to explore painting, drawing, clay, printmaking and collage, at their own pace. For high school students interested in building a portfolio, we have a class that guides the artist through the development of a complete portfolio culminating in an opportunity to organize a solo exhibition at Canvas. And for adults, there are classes in painting and drawing. Workshops in specific media will be added throughout the year.”

The 10-week fall session, which begins September 23 and runs through December 7, is now open for registration. Visit www.canvasstudioart.com to learn more about each class, the instructors and to register online.
