Law Journal Recognizes Brian Nelson Among New Jersey’s Top Attorneys Under Age 40

The New Jersey Law Journal has named Archer & Greiner Partner Brian M. Nelson to its list of “New Leaders of the Bar” for 2013, citing his “already…distinguished career in law and public service” as counsel to major public and private sector clients, as well as his extensive involvement in public policy matters statewide.

The Law Journal, a statewide weekly, used a “rigorous evaluation process” to select its list of 50 attorneys under age 40 who are “emblematic of a new wave of leadership in the New Jersey legal profession.” The Law Journal based its selections on the criteria that the honorees have “developed practice niches, massed strong books of business, demonstrated leadership qualities, shown expertise in litigation or transactional work and committed themselves to pro bono, charitable and professional volunteer work.”

“All these factors tend to distinguish an individual among his or her peers and signal greater accomplishments ahead,” the Law Journal editors wrote in announcing the list in the July 29 issue.

Mr. Nelson serves as Managing Partner of Archer & Greiner’s office in Shrewsbury, Monmouth County. He represents government entities, elected and appointed officials, non-profits, and private and public corporations in a variety of practice areas including litigation, labor and employment, election law, redevelopment, land use, zoning, affordable housing, government affairs and regulatory affairs. He serves as Township Attorney for Middletown Township, Monmouth County’s largest municipality, as well as Director of Law for Tinton Falls Borough, Special Counsel for the County of Monmouth, and Labor Counsel for the Western Monmouth Utilities Authority. He serves on the Board of the New Jersey Economic Development Authority, appointed by Gov. Chris Christie, and has served as counsel to several high-profile local and statewide election campaigns. Mr. Nelson has also served on numerous governmental transition teams, including for Gov. Christie in 2009 and most recently for Jersey City Mayor Steve Fulop.
