A Short Opposition to Trinity

To My Fellow Trinity Hall Objectors

As someone who vehemently opposes the location chosen for the Trinity Hall school, I am equally distressed by the appearance of Democrat Pat
Short into the discussion.  Mr. Short is a vile opportunist who has a history of doing this to help his own political ambitions.  Consider Mr. Short's past:

- He was thrown out of the Concerrned Citizens of Middletown group,
organized to fight the Town Center mall, for using the group to further
his own political ambitions.

- His once successful campaign in 2006 was funded with thousands of campaign dollars by the Azzolina family who are planning a major development of housing units on the former Town Center Site.  Mr. Short's 4x4 campaign signs could be seen on the property on Hwy 35 and also was endorsed by the Courier: An Azzolina owned newspaper.

- He was hauled into County court for falsifying petitions by the very
people that he duped into signing.

- Voted against a resolution calling for an end to government mandated, low income housing in Middletown

- Publicly attacked the Middletown Drug and Alcohol Alliance for a drug prevention program, even though it cost the taxpayers nothing.

In closing, the last thing we need is to have Mr. Short create a circus in the hopes of drawing attention to himself and garnering a few votes. I have attended both township committee and planning board meetings
and understand that we must work within the law.  I have spoken to three township committee members and understand that any statements from them, for or against, will hurt our case and end up in a lawsuit.
If we want to give ourselves the best chance to stop this project, we cannot allow Pat Short to hijack this cause for his own selfish, unrelated aims.
