Congressman Pallone Announces Closure of Long Branch and Sayreville Disaster Recovery Centers

Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) announced that the FEMA DRCs at Long Branch Fire Station No. 4 and the Sayreville Senior Center will close Saturday, February 9th, at 4 p.m.

WASHINGTON DC – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) today announced that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Disaster Recovery Centers (DRC) at Long Branch Fire Station No. 4 and the Sayreville Senior Center will close Saturday, February 9th, at 4 p.m.  There have been more than 2,500 visits to the Long Branch and Sayreville disaster recovery centers since they opened, but visits have declined in recent weeks. DRCs are staffed by FEMA representatives and serve as centers for home and business owners to ask questions about and file for disaster assistance.

The Union Beach and Belmar DRCs will remain open. Both are located at the boroughs’ municipal buildings. Help and information about FEMA disaster assistance are also always available online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov or by phone at 800-621-FEMA (3362).

“It is critical to register with FEMA if your home or business was damaged by Superstorm Sandy,” said Pallone. “I strongly encourage home and business owners in the Long Branch or Sayreville areas with questions about the disaster assistance process to visit these DRCs before they close on February 9,” said Pallone.
