Repair Grants for M'town Homeonwers

Applications will be accepted for township Community Development Program grants of up to $25,000.

If you have dire household repairs and can't seem to nail down the funds make the fixes, the Middletown Community Development Program may have a way to hammer them home.

If you are a Middletown homeowner, you may be eligible for home rehabilitation grant assistance from the township's Community Development Program, which is funded through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

Abating code violations in homes is a priority with these types of grants, as are other structural and system flaws deemed dangerous, such as bad roofs, plumbing, windows and electric.

All situations must first be assessed and applications need to be processed for eligibility.

So, the Community Development representatives will holding an informational meeting for interested homeowners to better understand the program and how it works.

The meeting will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 6, at the Middletown Arts Center, 36 Church Street (next to the Middletown Train Station), at 6 p.m..

Applications will be available at the meeting. Grants of up to $25,000 are available to households that meet the following income limits:
