Irene Aftermath Update in Middletown

Officials inform residents on status of electricity outages and more.

The following is a hurricane update release from Middletown Township:

The mandatory evacuation has been lifted. All residents are permitted to return to their residences. However, large sections of town still do not have power.

JCP&L reports that they may not be able to restore power for two to five days. JCP&L and township crews are working continuously to address all power issues. The township will schedule an emergency brush collection.

In the meantime, brush can be be brought to the recycling center at 52 Kanes lane. Unless it is a life-threating emergency, please do not call 9-1-1.
