Middletown: Flood Watch In Effect Until Tuesday, Rain Forecast All Week

Moderate to heavy rain throughout the day may result in flooding.

The already waterlogged Bayshore is again under a flood watch, according to the National Weather Service.

With only a brief reprieve from the heavy rain brought on by Tropical Storm Andrea, Middletown Township and much of the Bayshore will see moderate to heavy rain and scattered thunderstorms throughout the day Monday and into Tuesday night.

The NWS issued a flood warning Monday morning, cautioning area residents that the rain may result in some flooding. The warning will downgrade to a watch after 11:30 a.m. and remain in effect until 2 a.m. Tuesday.

Flooding on roadways and along smaller creeks and streams is a strong possibility, according to the NWS, particularly because of the wet conditions left over from the heavy rain on Friday.

Rain is forecast throughout the remainder of the week, however there is a chance the sun will start breaking through the clouds as early as Wednesday. Friday is expected to be sunny with a high of 75 degrees, just in time for the weekend.
