Write Away Club

Students in between fourth and eighth grade are invited to join the monthly Write Away Club. A meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 12 from 4 p.m. until 4:45 p.m. at the . At the meeting, members write, get to know other writers, share writing (optional), learn about writing, and work on getting ready to share their work with the community. and will both hold their graduation ceremonies this Thursday, June 14. High School South’s ceremony will be from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Monmouth University MAC center. High School North’s ceremony will also be held at the MAC center, it will begin at 2 p.m.

The Landmarks Commission will meet this Thursday, June 14 in the Middletown Public Library. The meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. The Landmarks Commission is an advisory body with the mission of promoting the educational, cultural, economic and general welfare of Middletown through the preservation of historic buildings, structures, places and districts of historic interest. The Middletown Township Sewerage Authority's regular public meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 14. The meeting will be held in the administration office of the Authority, located off of Center Avenue in Belford. For more information visit http://­www.­middle­townnj.­org.

Relay for Life

The American Cancer Society of Middletown’s Relay for Life will be held at Middletown High School North track on Friday, June 15. The event’s Opening Ceremony starts at 7 p.m., and throughout the night there is music, games and activities. The Closing Ceremony is held around 6 a.m. the following morning. Relay is a great way for Middletown to come together for one night, for one cause. More information can be found at the event’s website.
